Utah vets are in a precarious position: the V.A. is now open to “discussing” medical cannabis use with vets seeking treatment. But Utah has no legal use within the state. So, telling a VA doc they use cannabis rather than prescription meds can result in notes to their medical record… notes that could negatively affect future treatment.
TRUCE hopes changes in federal law, as well as future changes in state law, will one day allow veterans to openly speak to their V.A. doctors about using medical cannabis as an alternative to pharmaceutical.
In the meantime, nothing changes in Utah.
