Utah Rep Brad Daw, self-proclaimed “marijuana advocate” (which we know to be untrue), is busy pushing HB 195 during this year’s session. Sadly, this bill only provides industrial hemp to terminal patients. The “medicine” would come from industrial hemp, grown by Utah farmers.
Great concept, except industrial hemp is NOT medicine. Industrial hemp is used for making flooring, rope, cardboard, paints, clothing and cosmetics.
Besides, why should a patient have to wait until they’re terminal, when true medical cannabis could help stop the disease they’re dying from?
This article helps explain some of the differences between industrial hemp and medical cannabis. Don’t be Brad, be smart. Educate yourself.
