Lobbying efforts against the bill by patient advocates (and also by those opposed to ANY form of medical cannabis ever, making for odd alliances on this bill) came close, but HB197 squeaked through the Utah House of Representatives.

It still has to pass the State Senate before going to the Governor, and efforts to defeat both HB195 and HB197 will continue. We have no crystal ball, but we are hopeful that with the involvement of citizens, there’s still a good chance to stop this flawed and misleading proposal.

You may wish to start contacting your Senator with your opinion on these bills.
