“The study [into the healing of fractures and the strength of the healing] is part of a growing body of research into the medical benefits of marijuana compounds, including CBD. The findings may lead to new research into ways that marijuana could be used to treat osteoporosis or other bone diseases.
‘The clinical potential of cannabinoid-related compounds is simply undeniable at this point,’ researcher Yankel Gabet said.
The study supported the same team’s prior findings that the body contains receptors that respond to cannabinoid compounds, and that these receptors are not confined to the brain.
‘We only respond to cannabis because we are built with intrinsic compounds and receptors that can also be activated by compounds in the cannabis plant,’ Gabet said.”

We will note again that the reason so much of the innovative research in the medical cannabis field is coming out of Israel is that it’s a country where the government supports rather than hinders research into “the science” that opponents claim is needed for the FDA approval they hold out as what they’re “waiting” for before, they say, there’s “enough evidence” to consider allowing full safe, legal access here.
Meanwhile, between the arbitrary regulations and bureaucratic roadblocks placed by the FDA, DEA and NIDA, approval to conduct studies here can take years of navigating a complicated, expensive, narrow maze, with very limited access to appropriate cannabis to use in the research even when and if approval is finally granted.
