Our elected officials keep telling us how dangerous cannabis is, including CBD. Stories of people experiencing massive drops in their IQ, becoming addicted, overdosing, or developing erectile dysfunction have been told by opponents to legalization.

And yet, this report by the World Health Organization says “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or
dependence potential.” WHO goes on to say “…there is no evidence of recreational use of CBD or any public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

True, the Utah Medical Cannabis Initiative (UMCI) goes beyond CBD. But CBD is still considered a “cannabis extract” and would be stringently regulated. If opponents are willing to ignore the rest of the world about CBD, what are they willing to fabricate about the medical use of the whole plant?
